The other day while I was creating my horror themed newspaper nails, I was also reading the article about Vincent Price's top ten movies. Among them was Laura, which I had watched a few years ago because the description was suspiciously similar to Twin Peaks. The first line of the film is "I shall never forget the weekend that Laura died." The film draws many parallels with Twin Peaks, but is a film noir classic all on its own.
In the pilot episode of Twin Peaks, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper inspects the fingernails of murder victim Laura Palmer. She is discovered to have a small piece of paper with the capital letter "R" shoved underneath the nail of her ring finger on her left hand.
I painted my nails with two coats of OPI's Sweet Heart and the carefully placed the newspaper cutout into the wet polish with tweezers. I finished it off with a top coat from OPI.
Is anyone else out there as obsessed with Twin Peaks enough to create their own Laura Palmer themed nails? I wanted to use a natural shade for this, even though her nails in the shot I'm thinking of are quite a bit nastier than the shade I chose. What do you think?

This is just too awesome/brilliant.
ReplyDeleteOh my. I've never thought of using letters or newspaper cutouts on my nails, but that's a great idea. :)

I'm really loving your newspaper mani ideas lately!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this. I'm dressing up as "dead, wrapped in plastic" Laura for Halloween this weekend, and this idea just topped off my outfit! Thanks so much for sharing!
